Generation of electrcity is the means trough which electrcity is generated either for the Homes or Industry. There are alot of ways that we harvest the nature's power to transform it into electricity. Most of the Power Plants use water as either a fluid or a gas (steam).

How do we generate electricity?
The way its generated depends on the Power Plant its performed by for example HYPP (Hydro Power Plants) produce electricity by using the pressure of the water to spin a giant turbine that spins a generator.
But alot of Power Plants use boiling water as a way to spin the turbines for example CPP's (Coal Power Plant) use a giant boiler to boil the water to steam so they can use a very high pressure steam to spin a giant machine called "Steam Turbine".

How many kinds of Power Generators are there?
Many, but for now, we will start with 2 kinds.
Renewable
HyPP (Hydro Power Plant)
WiPP (Wind Power Plant)
SoPP (Solar Power Plant)
GeoPP (Geothermal Power Plant)
Biomass Power Plants
Not-renewable
CPP (Coal Power Plant)
NPP (Nuclear Power Plant)
Diesel Power plants (mainly outdated and now only used as back-up)
Gas Power Plants
Pictured: A very famous NPP. Try to guess which one is it.
There are alot of different kinds of power plants all with their own advantages and disadvantages, which we will look more into another day. Without those giant buildings that we call Power plants, we may still have to use steam engines for everything. Without them our lives would be a lot different, for the worse.
